The easiest way is to send us a sample manuscript or project brief. We'll review it, provide a detailed assessment, and propose a workflow tailored to your requirements. There's no commitment at this stage.
What information do you need from us to provide a quote?
We typically need: the type of content (journal, book, etc.), estimated volume, input format, desired output formats, and any specific style guides or templates you follow.
Do you offer trial projects?
Yes. We encourage publishers to start with a pilot project so you can evaluate our quality, turnaround, and communication before scaling up.
Services
What types of publishers do you work with?
We work with journal publishers, academic publishers, book publishers, and children's book publishers across STM, humanities, education, trade, and professional categories.
Can you handle complex content like equations and scientific figures?
Yes. We specialize in complex content including mathematical equations (LaTeX and MathML), chemical structures, data tables, scientific figures, and multi-language typesetting.
Do you provide accessibility services?
Yes. We offer full accessibility compliance including WCAG 2.2 AAA, PDF/UA, Section 508, and European Accessibility Act (EAA) requirements. We build accessibility into the production workflow from the start.
Production
What is your typical turnaround time?
Turnaround depends on content complexity and volume. For journal articles, we typically deliver within publisher-defined SLAs. For books, timelines are agreed during project scoping. We handle over 15,000 articles per month without compromising quality.
What file formats do you accept as input?
We accept manuscripts in MS Word, LaTeX, PDF, XML, InDesign, and most standard digital formats. We'll work with whatever format you currently use.
What output formats do you deliver?
We deliver across print and digital: PDF (print-ready, PDF/A, PDF/UA), EPUB 2 and 3, JATS/NLM/BITS XML, responsive HTML, MOBI, and interactive HTML5.
Technology
What is an XML-first workflow?
An XML-first workflow means we structure your content as XML from the earliest stage of production. This creates a single source of truth from which all output formats (PDF, EPUB, HTML, etc.) are generated automatically, ensuring consistency and reducing rework.
Do you integrate with publisher platforms?
Yes. We deliver directly to publisher platforms, content management systems, and distribution channels. We also support integration with DOI registration services, indexing databases, and institutional repositories.
What is Cameo Pulse ?
Cameo Pulse is our integrated production methodology that connects every stage of publishing, from manuscript intake through to multi-format delivery. It combines automation, quality control, and structured workflows into a single system.
Pricing & Security
How is pricing structured?
Pricing is based on content type, complexity, volume, and required output formats. We provide detailed quotes after reviewing a sample or project brief. Volume-based pricing is available for ongoing partnerships.
Is our content secure?
Yes. Cameo is ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certified for Information Security Management. All content is handled under strict security protocols, NDAs are standard, and we maintain secure infrastructure for file transfer and storage.
Do you offer long-term contracts?
We work with publishers on both project-based and long-term partnership arrangements. Many of our clients have worked with us for 10+ years on ongoing production programs.
